From the heart of Worcestershire, UNTO the AGES are quickly proving they’re not just another underground metal act — they’re a band with grit, soul, and a purpose that towers beyond the music itself. With the release of their brand-new single “Never Fade” (out now on all streaming platforms), the group are already being tipped as one of the UK’s most important rising names in heavy music.
And here’s why.
A song that means everything

“Never Fade” isn’t just a single; it’s a deeply personal statement. Written in memory of Anj Avraam, the brother of frontman Xen Angeli, who passed away after a short battle with pancreatic cancer in 2021, the track is both a tribute and a universal anthem about loss. “It’s for anyone who’s ever had to face grief head-on,” Xen explains, “but also about the love that never really leaves.”
The track has already had its first spin on
BBC Hereford & Worcester and was performed live for the first time just days ago, where the emotional weight of the song electrified the room.

“Never Fade” also boasts some serious pedigree behind the desk. It was recorded and produced by
Ben Rhys Thomas of
Sylosis, who contributes a blistering guest solo that elevates the song into modern metal classic territory. His involvement not only sharpens the track’s sonic attack but connects UNTO the AGES to the current wave of world-class UK heavy music.
Born from tragedy, forged into a band

“It felt only right that our first song would honour Anj—the spark and inspiration behind my own path as a frontman—and we named it “Never Fade.” — Xen Angeli
Remarkably, “Never Fade” is also the song that birthed UNTO the AGES as a band. After Anj’s passing, guitarist Matt Charman reached out to Xen with a simple invitation: “Come down to the rehearsal room and see what happens.” What happened was chemistry, catharsis, and the formation of a line-up that also includes Mark Brown (bass) and Kringo (drums). Writing about Anj felt like the only natural first step. Thus, “Never Fade” became not just a tribute, but the foundation stone of the band itself.
Metal from Middle England

If you caught their self-titled debut EP earlier this year, you’ll know exactly what UNTO the AGES bring to the table. Tapping into the heyday of early ’90s metal, their sound weaves thrash, post-grunge, groove metal, and metalcore into something both nostalgic and refreshing. Think rapid chugging riffs, stompy bass, turret-gun drumming, and vocals that swing from guttural screams to eerie harmonies and even gang shouts.
Music with a cause

More than just a band, UNTO the AGES are on a mission!
50% of all proceeds from “Never Fade” will go directly to Pancreatic Cancer UK, tying the release into the broader Angel Of Rage fundraising project.

“Never Fade is part of our wider Angel Of Rage project—a yearly metal event held in honour of my brother Anj, that raises funds and awareness for Pancreatic Cancer UK. This year’s event at The Marrs Bar (Worcester) featured Blaze Bayley headlining alongside UNTO the AGES and Last Agony, and we’re proud to keep the momentum going with this single. We’re donating 50% of all record-sale proceeds from “Never Fade” to Pancreatic Cancer UK”. — Xen Angeli of UNTO the AGES
The video (in progress)

UNTO the AGES are currently working on the official music video for “Never Fade,” set for release in the coming months. It will feature photos and footage of Anj throughout his life, both onstage and off, celebrating the legacy of an influential musician, leader, and older brother who inspired Xen from the very beginning. The forthcoming official video will drive that message home even further, featuring images of Anj that include some from his own time as a frontman, inspiring Xen from an early age.
Why they matter

At a time when so many new bands are scrambling for identity, UNTO the AGES already feel like the finished article: heavy but heartfelt, classic but modern, grounded but ambitious. “Never Fade” is the sound of a band announcing themselves with fire, passion, and purpose.
Mark our words — Middle England’s newest export could soon be one of UK metal’s biggest deals.
