This weekend marks a huge milestone for us at Ninth Planet T-Shirts .

For the first time, we’re stepping out from behind the screen and into the real world, heading to Maidenhead Comic Con with Bolt Events . It’s a big moment. A mix of excitement, nerves, and a feeling of stepping into the eye of the storm… but in the best possible way!

From Idea to Reality

Ninth Planet T-Shirts started from a simple place: a love for bold designs, alternative culture, and the worlds of film, music, and nostalgia that we all grew up with.

From horror classics to cult favourites, from retro aesthetics to modern icons, the goal has always been the same: Stocking the designs people genuinely connect with.

Up until now, that’s lived purely online. But this weekend… it becomes real.

Why Comic Con?

Comic Con isn’t just an event, it’s a community! It’s where people who love films, games, comics, music and pop culture in all its forms, come together in one place. And for a brand like ours, that’s everything. This isn’t just about selling t-shirts; it’s about being part of the culture we’ve built the brand around!

This weekend’s event takes place at Maidenhead Comic Con, hosted by Bolt Events at Braywick Leisure Centre , running from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, March 29th . It’s a full day dedicated to all things film, TV, comics, and toys, with a brilliant mix of cosplay, retro gaming, board games, face painting, themed cars, and a wide range of exhibitors. It’s designed to be a relaxed, family-friendly environment where everyone is welcome to come along and get immersed in the culture.

Behind the Scenes: Getting Ready

Getting ready for our first event has been… chaos (the good kind)! We’ve been at it, designing promotional materials, organising sizes, styles, and layouts and building our stall setup. We’ve also been setting up all the techy stuff in the background, making sure card payments are smooth and ready, as well as creating QR codes so people can instantly browse the online range.

There’s been a lot of trial and error and plenty of last-minute adjustments, but it’s all part of the journey.

This will be our very first time selling in person, and honestly, we couldn’t have picked a better place to start. To be stepping into the world of live events at a Bolt Events Comic Con feels incredibly special, right at the heart of a community that celebrates everything we love. We’re genuinely excited, a little nervous in the best way, and ready to take it all in. We can’t wait to meet people, share what we’ve created, and be part of something bigger than just our store. UNTO THE AGES Unveil “Never Fade” Video and Official T-Shirt

Some songs arrive as statements. Others arrive as quiet memorials.

“ Never Fade ,” the latest release from Middle England metal band UNTO the AGES , belongs firmly to the latter.

The band have now unveiled the official music video for the track, offering a visual companion to one of the most personal and emotionally resonant songs in their catalogue to date.

Written in memory of vocalist Xen Angeli’s brother, Anj Avraam , who passed away in 2021 following a battle with pancreatic cancer, “Never Fade” is not framed as spectacle or drama. Instead, it exists as a meditation on loss, connection, and the way love continues to echo long after someone is gone.

From a live debut to a lasting moment

The song was first performed publicly at Angel Of Rage Festival in Worcester last year, where UNTO the AGES appeared as main support to metal legend Blaze Bayley in front of a sold-out audience.

There was no way to predict how it would be received. Songs of this nature often take on a life of their own once they leave the rehearsal room. But something distinct occurred that night, a shared stillness, a collective recognition, the kind of unspoken connection that cannot be rehearsed or engineered. Since its release, “Never Fade” has also served a wider purpose beyond the band, with 50% of all proceeds donated to Pancreatic Cancer UK , tying personal grief to a broader act of remembrance and support.

A video shaped from within the band

True to the group’s independent spirit, the music video was created in-house.

Filmed and edited by bassist Mark Brown, operating under his visual work banner Mark Brown Photo , the video reflects the same restraint and sincerity that defines the song itself. Brown, a long-standing presence within the Midlands music scene as both a musician, photographer and filmmaker, avoids theatrical excess in favour of something quieter and more grounded.

The result is not a dramatization of grief, but a space to sit with it.

There is something fitting in the song’s visual identity being shaped by one of its own creators, a continuation of the band’s long-standing DIY ethos.

But here’s the twist: the idea of the T-shirt is way older than even Cliff Richard, or your favourite vintage throwback. In fact, ancient Egyptians were rocking T-shirts thousands of years ago. No, seriously. Let’s take a little fashion time travel…

The OG: The Tarkhan Dress (aka the 5,000-Year-Old Tee)

Meet the Tarkhan Dress , an elegant linen number pulled from an Egyptian tomb in 1913. After radiocarbon testing, it was dated to around 3482–3102 BC , making it the oldest known ‘t-shirt’ by far at 5,000 years old.

The Look : Simple T-shape , narrow sleeves, and even a V-neck . Tell me that doesn’t scream minimalist chic.
The Vibe : Creases at the armpits and elbows show it was actually worn, not just some ceremonial relic. Imagine being the ancient Egyptian who basically invented “chill-wear”.

Remarkably, “Never Fade” is also the song that birthed UNTO the AGES as a band. After Anj’s passing, guitarist Matt Charman reached out to Xen with a simple invitation: “Come down to the rehearsal room and see what happens.” What happened was chemistry, catharsis, and the formation of a line-up that also includes Mark Brown (bass) and Kringo (drums). Writing about Anj felt like the only natural first step. Thus, “Never Fade” became not just a tribute, but the foundation stone of the band itself.

Angel Of Rage 2025 Live Metal Fundraiser for Pancreatic Cancer UK

The event will take place on 6th September 2025 at Worcester's most notorious and established music venue, the Marrs Bar to once again pay tribute to the memory and legacy of Anj Avraam AKA Big Viz; a talented musician, artist, writer and pioneer of the local alternative music scene here in Worcester City.

Anj was actively involved in the local music scene from the early 90s, right through to the time of his passing in 2021 and was known back in the day as the lead singer of the local thrash band X-10-8 and then later the nu metal band Wisefleaf. He was also the co-front man in the Hip Hop / cross-genre band Case Closed.

Sadly, Anj passed away suddenly after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2021 at the age of just 42. His time was cut short despite having so much more left to give creatively. And tragically this type of story is not at all uncommon when it comes to this particular cancer.

The event aims to bring metalheads together from far and wide for a great cause and a night of unrivalled entertainment. ‘Big Viz’ was an avid Iron Maiden fan since he was a kid, and he absolutely loved Blaze Bayley , so nothing could be more poetic than having him headline at an event held in his honour!

This will truly be a night of musical mayhem with a headlining performance by Blaze Bayley (Iron Maiden Singer 94 - 99) along with support from Midlands based bands UNTO the AGES and Last Agony. The event plans to raise £2000 this year, doubling the previous year's target.

All you need to do to support the cause is go out and have a great time, as 50% of the funds from all tickets sold will be going straight to Pancreatic Cancer UK to support the amazing work they do. ��

Green Day's World Tour Hits Download Festival UK to Celebrate 30 Years of Dookie and 20 Years of American Idiot

Finally! Green Day are scheduled to make their first-ever appearance at Download Festival this coming Friday, and being huge lovers of all things rock related, a few of us here at Ninth Planet T-Shirts will be heading down for what promises to be one of Downloads most memorable and liveliest events to date. We are so excited!

Their Download appearance will be a part of continuation of the bands Saviors Tour; an ongoing world tour to support their fourteenth studio album Saviors. The tour, which began back in May 2024, has so far included shows in Europe , South Africa , North America , and the United Arab Emirates .

The first-time Download headliners will be playing a two-hour set on the Apex Stage this coming Friday 13th June, where the trio plan to perform two of their most adored albums in their entirety; Dookie for the record's 30th anniversary and American Idiot which is now celebrating its 20th anniversary!

Green Day , who first formed in 1986 will then be moving on to play a string of shows across Europe, which will include dates in Italy, Greece, Germany and Holland among others.

Our team can't wait to touch down at Download this year, with performances from an array of amazing bands and a line up that will also include co-headliners Sleep Token and the mighty Korn - this is going to be epic!

But it's not just those of us who can make it to watch these guys perform live this y ear that are part of this movement! Sure, you may no longer be able to acquire tickets for some of the closer tour dates now, but you can always console yourself with the comforting feeling of a brand-new Green Day t-shirt to proudly show your love and support for this iconic punk trio!
